How much does pest control cost?
The cost depends on the size of your home, the service you need, and whether you choose a recurring plan or a one-time visit. Blue Jays prices every job up front with no pressure and no padded fees. Recurring plans come with a 90-day guarantee. Call or request a quote and Nick will give you a straight number for your home.
Are termite inspections free?
No. A termite or bed bug inspection with Blue Jays is $75, and we will never call it free. Nick would rather be upfront than run a bait-and-switch. That fee covers a real, careful inspection, and if you move forward with treatment, you get a clear scope and honest pricing with no pressure.
How often should I get pest control?
Most homes do best on quarterly pest control, once every three months, to hold a year-round barrier against the Midlands' steady pest pressure. Homes near Lake Murray, on wooded lots, or with an active problem may need more frequent visits during peak season. Blue Jays sets your schedule from what the first visit finds.
Are treatments safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Treated areas are safe once they have dried, usually within about an hour of the visit. For yard mosquito and flea treatments, keep pets off the treated area during service and for one hour after. Blue Jays applies every product carefully, with a family-first approach to where and how it goes down.
What is your 4-step process?
Every general pest visit follows four steps: spider brush to clear webs and nests, treat around entry points like windows and door frames, treat the foundation as the main barrier, then spread granules in the yard outside the liquid zone. It is the same process Nick refined over more than ten years in the field.
What areas do you serve?
Blue Jays is based in Lexington and serves the Lake Murray and greater Columbia area, including West Columbia, Cayce, Chapin, Irmo, Leesville, and the Newberry County towns, plus Rock Hill about an hour north. Coverage follows specific towns and ZIP codes, so call if you are unsure about your address.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. Recurring general pest, flea, tick, bed bug, carpenter ant, and German roach services carry a 90-day guarantee. If pests come back between visits, Blue Jays re-treats at no extra cost. Mosquito service carries a 30-day guarantee, and termite bonds renew every year. One-time treatments are not guaranteed.
What does the termite bond cover?
The Blue Jays termite bond protects your home against Eastern subterranean termites using an advanced baiting system with regular monitoring. It includes annual inspection and renewal, no deductible, and up to $1,000,000 in termite damage protection when your home qualifies. It is the same protection built into every Blue Jays package.
